What Is The LG gram +View 17?
The LG gram +View 17 is a portable external monitor rather than a standalone laptop. It is designed to connect to another device such as a laptop and provide a much larger second workspace.
The 17-inch size is the main attraction. Instead of carrying a traditional desktop monitor, the gram +View can be packed with your mobile workstation and used when you need additional screen space.
This is a portable monitor. It does not function as an independent Windows computer and does not replace a laptop. It requires a compatible connected device for its display input.
17-inch WQXGA Display
The monitor uses a 17-inch WQXGA IPS panel with a 2560 × 1600 resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio. The additional vertical space compared with a conventional 16:9 screen can be useful for documents, coding, spreadsheets and web pages.
Wide Colour Coverage
LG specifies up to 99% DCI-P3 colour coverage for the gram +View 17. That makes the display particularly interesting for content consumption, design work and colour-rich visual content.
The combination of WQXGA resolution, IPS technology and high DCI-P3 coverage gives the portable monitor a strong focus on image quality rather than simply adding screen size.
Anti-Glare Surface
The panel uses an anti-glare surface. This is useful for mobile work because reflections can become more distracting when using a monitor in different rooms, offices, cafés or outdoor-adjacent environments.

Big Screen, Portable Design
One of the most unusual aspects of this product is the combination of a 17-inch display with a weight of around 780g. That gives you a significantly larger workspace without carrying a conventional 17-inch desktop monitor.
The gram +View is especially relevant for people who frequently move between offices, homes, client locations or temporary workspaces.
Landscape, Portrait & Flexible Viewing
The included protective cover can function as a stand, while the monitor supports landscape and portrait-style use. LG also lists Auto Rotate functionality, allowing the orientation to adapt when the display is rotated.

Built-in Speakers
The gram +View 17 includes built-in speakers, making it more self-contained as a portable second display. Speaker output can be useful when you want basic audio without relying exclusively on the laptop's speakers.
LG Switch Software
LG's software ecosystem includes LG Switch functionality for supported gram +View features. It is designed to make display management and orientation-related workflows easier.
