MSI Modern 14 Overview
The MSI Modern 14 C7M-104IN is a compact business and productivity laptop built around a 14-inch Full HD IPS-Level display, 16GB of onboard DDR4 memory and a 512GB NVMe PCIe Gen3 SSD.
Its lightweight chassis is listed at approximately 1.4kg, making the laptop relatively easy to carry for students, professionals and users who move between home, office and college.
The key specifications include a 14-inch FHD display, 16GB DDR4 memory, 512GB NVMe storage, integrated AMD Radeon graphics, USB-C connectivity, HDMI output, MicroSD support and a backlit keyboard.
Processor & Performance
MSI's current official specification page lists the C7M-104IN with an AMD Ryzen 5 7430U processor featuring 6 cores and a maximum boost clock of up to 4.3GHz.
The Ryzen 5 7430U configuration is intended for everyday productivity, office applications, web browsing, multitasking and general computing rather than dedicated high-end gaming.
The laptop uses integrated AMD Radeon graphics, so graphics performance depends on the processor's integrated graphics rather than a separate dedicated GPU.
Important Model Note
MSI's current official specification page identifies the Modern 14 C7M-104IN with an AMD Ryzen 5 7430U processor.
Some marketplace/product listings describe the C7M-104IN as using a Ryzen 5 7530U. Because these processors are different models, buyers should verify the processor shown on the Amazon listing and product packaging before purchase.
This review uses MSI's current model-specific specification as the primary technical reference.
14-inch FHD Display
The laptop features a 14-inch Full HD 1920 × 1080 IPS-Level display. The 16:9 panel is designed for everyday work such as documents, browsing, streaming and productivity applications.
A 14-inch screen also keeps the overall footprint smaller than many 15.6-inch laptops, which can be useful when portability is a priority.
Memory & Storage
The C7M-104IN specification lists 16GB DDR4-3200 onboard memory. The memory is integrated onto the motherboard, so buyers should consider the onboard configuration when planning long-term upgrades.
Storage is provided by a 512GB NVMe PCIe Gen3 SSD. MSI lists one M.2 NVMe SSD slot for the Modern 14 C7M platform.
16GB RAM combined with a 512GB NVMe SSD provides a practical configuration for office applications, browser multitasking, programming, study work, content consumption and general productivity.
Graphics & Gaming
The laptop uses integrated AMD Radeon graphics rather than a dedicated NVIDIA or AMD graphics card.
This makes the system more suitable for everyday graphics workloads, video playback, office applications and lighter gaming than demanding AAA gaming at high settings.
The Amazon listing may use gaming-related terminology, but this specific configuration does not have a dedicated gaming GPU. Buyers looking for high-end gaming performance should consider laptops with a discrete GPU.
Keyboard & Everyday Usability
The Modern 14 C7M platform includes a white-backlit keyboard, which can make typing more convenient in low-light environments.
The compact 14-inch format is designed around portability while retaining a full laptop keyboard and standard productivity features.
Ports & Connectivity
The MSI Modern 14 C7M platform provides a useful selection of wired and wireless connectivity options for everyday work.
The specification includes USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 with Power Delivery, one USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port and two USB-A 2.0 ports.
For external displays, the laptop includes HDMI. A MicroSD card reader and a combined microphone/headphone jack are also included.
Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth, with the exact Bluetooth version depending on the regional specification.
Battery & Charging
The MSI Modern 14 C7M specification lists a 3-cell 39.3Wh battery together with a 65W power adapter.
Actual battery runtime depends on screen brightness, workload, wireless connectivity, applications and power settings, so battery life should not be inferred from capacity alone.
Design & Portability
The laptop measures approximately 319.9 × 223 × 19.35mm and weighs approximately 1.4kg according to MSI's C7M specification information.
The Urban Silver finish gives the laptop a professional appearance, while the 14-inch format makes it easier to carry compared with many larger laptops.
Camera & Audio
The Modern 14 C7M platform includes a 720p HD webcam designed for video calls and online meetings.
Audio is handled by two 2W speakers, with MSI listing Hi-Res Audio readiness on the platform specification.
Windows & Software
The C7M-104IN is listed with Windows 11 Home. The Indian MSI specification page also lists Microsoft 365 Basic and Office Home 2024 for this particular configuration.
The exact software bundle can vary by seller or regional SKU, so buyers should confirm the Amazon listing before purchase.
