OnePlus Buds 4 Overview
The OnePlus Buds 4 are positioned as a higher-feature TWS option, combining an 11mm woofer and 6mm tweeter with dedicated DACs for the two drivers. OnePlus also supports LHDC 5.0 Hi-Res Audio, with up to a 1Mbps bitrate and 24-bit/192kHz capability on compatible Android setups.
For noise control, the earbuds use real-time Dynamic ANC rated up to 55dB, with OnePlus stating that the system can adjust up to 800 times per second. There is also an Adaptive Mode that balances noise cancellation and transparency.
Dual drivers + dual DACs + LHDC 5.0 make the Buds 4's audio hardware more elaborate than a typical single-driver TWS design.
Audio Quality: Dual Drivers + Dual DACs
The Buds 4 use an 11mm woofer for lower frequencies and a 6mm tweeter for higher frequencies. Each driver has its own DAC, allowing the two drivers to be controlled separately.
OnePlus says the 11mm woofer uses a 30-layer ceramic-metal diaphragm, while the 6mm tweeter uses a flat diaphragm. The configuration is designed to give the earbuds a wider range for bass, mids and treble reproduction.
Supported audio features include Sound Master EQ with three presets—Balanced, Serenade and Bass Mode—plus a customizable six-band EQ and BassWave enhancement. Golden Sound can create a personalized audio profile using an ear scan and listening test.
Hi-Res Audio: LHDC 5.0
LHDC 5.0 is supported with a wireless bitrate of up to 1Mbps, 24-bit depth and up to 192kHz sample rate. OnePlus describes this as a near-lossless, studio-oriented wireless audio experience.
There is an important compatibility detail: OnePlus says Hi-Res Audio with LHDC 5.0 is supported on Android devices. The Hi-Res feature is not supported on iOS, and non-OnePlus Android users may need the HeyMelody app for related earbud functions.
If you use an iPhone, the Buds 4 can still function as Bluetooth earbuds, but the full LHDC Hi-Res feature set is not available on iOS.
Noise Cancellation: 55dB Dynamic ANC
OnePlus rates the Buds 4's real-time Dynamic ANC at up to 55dB within a noise-cancellation range of up to 5,500Hz. The system continuously adapts to the ear canal and surrounding noise conditions.
The earbuds also offer Adaptive Mode, which is designed to balance ANC and Transparency Mode depending on the situation. Transparency Mode can be useful when you need awareness of your surroundings without removing the earbuds.
OnePlus notes that its ANC figures come from laboratory testing and that real-world results can vary with ear shape, ear-tip fit, wearing position and ambient conditions.
Calls: 3-Mic AI Noise Cancellation
The Buds 4 use a feed-forward microphone, talk microphone and feed-back microphone system, combined with 3-mic AI Call Noise Cancellation.
OnePlus says voice-cancellation performance is improved compared with the Buds 3. As with ANC, actual call clarity depends on the environment, wind, phone, app and fit.
Gaming & Connectivity
For gaming, the Buds 4 support a claimed 47ms low-latency mode. OnePlus says this figure comes from its test laboratory, so actual latency can vary depending on the device, game and connection conditions.
Connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.4, Google Fast Pair and dual-device connection. OnePlus also provides Steady Connect on select OnePlus phones running OxygenOS 15.0.0 or above.
The earbuds support OnePlus 3D Audio and voice-assistant controls. AI Translation is available only on select OnePlus devices and supported software versions.
Battery: Up to 45 Hours
With ANC off and AAC at 50% volume, OnePlus rates the Buds 4 at up to 11 hours for the earbuds alone and up to 45 hours with the charging case.
With ANC on and AAC, the figures are up to 6 hours for the earbuds and 24 hours with the case. With ANC on and LHDC, OnePlus lists up to 5.5 hours for the earbuds and 22 hours with the case.
A 10-minute charge can provide up to 11 hours of playback when using the earbuds together with the case, under OnePlus' stated test conditions.
Build & Water Resistance
The earbuds carry an IP55 water and dust resistance rating. The charging case does not carry the IP55 rating, so it should be kept away from water and dust exposure.
OnePlus notes that resistance can diminish with product aging and that liquid or dust damage is not covered under warranty.

Final Verdict
A strong all-round TWS feature set
The OnePlus Buds 4 combine a relatively advanced audio hardware setup with strong noise-control and connectivity features. The 11mm woofer, 6mm tweeter and dual DACs give the earbuds a differentiated specification, while LHDC 5.0 provides high-resolution wireless audio capability on compatible Android devices.
The real-time Dynamic ANC rated up to 55dB, Adaptive Mode and 3-mic AI call noise cancellation make the Buds 4 particularly feature-focused for commuting and calls. Battery figures are also substantial, reaching up to 45 hours with the case under OnePlus' stated AAC/ANC-off test conditions.
The main limitations are compatibility and usage conditions: LHDC Hi-Res is not supported on iOS, the case is not IP55-rated, and advertised battery and latency figures depend on specific test settings.
For shoppers considering the OnePlus Buds 4, the key specification combination is dual drivers + dual DACs + LHDC 5.0 + 55dB Dynamic ANC + Bluetooth 5.4 + dual-device connectivity.
